The karmic tail
The karmic tail is the Destiny Matrix overlay drawn from the birth year itself: the tradition reads it as material carried in from before the life begins, however literally or loosely that frame is taken. Despite the name, it is the same mirror as the rest of the chart, a set of arcana naming themes, not a ledger of anything owed. In this system, the tail describes inherited emphasis, not judgment.
How it runs
The four digits of the birth year are taken separately, never summed, and each is read as an arcana from 1 to 22, with any zero read as 22. A year like 1985 gives the four arcana 1, 9, 8, and 5; a year like 2000 gives 2, 22, 22, and 22. Each position it touches holds an arcana; the overlay is read across them together. How to read it
Read each digit as its own arcana, holding the usual conscious and shadow pair, and notice repeats before anything else: when the same digit appears more than once, this system reads that arcana's material as concentrated, a theme that shows up with more weight because it appears more than once. The tradition's past-life framing is the tradition's claim; the practical reading is simply that these themes tend to feel present from early on. The tail sits alongside the chart, coloring it rather than overruling it.
A repeated digit is concentration of attention, never a sentence, a debt, or something owed. The word karmic is the tradition's; nothing in the tail is a punishment.
