How Life Path 1 is calculated

A Life Path reduces the full birth date to a single digit. A date that sums to 10, 19, 28, 37, or 46 reduces to 1. In Pythagorean practice this is often written as 10/1, since the 1 is understood to carry the fullness of the 10 rather than a bare 1.

A worked example

Take someone born on January 6, 2010. Add every digit of the date, then add the digits of the answer until one digit is left:

• 1 + 6 + 2 + 0 + 1 + 0 = 10
• 1 + 0 = 1
